Aslan, a talking lion, is the
creator and guardian of Narnia. He is the son of the great Emperor-beyond-the-Sea. Aslan is powerful, but he is also wise,
gentle and compassionate. He is the most important of all the characters in the Narnia books because-and this is the big secret-
he represents Jesus! He is the only character to appear in all seven of the books, and he is the only one who can save the worlds. Aslan is there in The Magician's Nephew before Narnia begins, and he is there in The Last Battle after Old Narnia is destroyed. There
are a lot of places in all seven books when Aslan acts like Jesus did, says something like Jesus said, and treats characters
like Jesus treated people. Aslan even had some of the same names that the Bible has for Christ. Here are some examples:
Names of Aslan:

He's wild you know.
Not like a tame lion. (LWW)
Q: Why does Aslan sometimes
go away?
A: Aslan, like Jesus
is always present; but people can't always see or hear him. Many people do not believe in Aslan or keep a relationship with
him, so it doesn't seem to them that he exists-or it seems like he is far away. Uncle Andrew for example in The Magician's Nephew hears Aslan's song as a roar because he refuses to
believe. Still, Jesus is always there waiting for people to come closer and believe.
For what you hear
depends a good deal on where you are standing; it also depends on what sort of person you are. (MN)
Jesus cares for you the same way. Even when you can't see Him and don't feel Him. HE IS THERE. When you unlock the secret that Aslan represents Jesus,
you can imagine all the ways that he wants to love, guide, and be there for you.
